Chiltepin Peper
The chiltepin grows wild on thorny shrubs in arid and semi-desert areas. Its fruits are small and round, about the size of a grape, and vary in color from light green to deep red when ripe. Despite their diminutive size, these chilies exude a distinctive aroma and possess an exceptionally spicy and smoky flavor.
The intensity of its spiciness is so powerful that it has become a highly prized ingredient in Mexican cuisine, being used sparingly to flavor sauces, stews, marinades, and various traditional dishes. Its heat is instantaneous and is perceived both on the tongue and on the palate, offering a unique and challenging sensory experience for lovers of spiciness.
